Shootout and Fantasy Camp prep
By waterskichris at 2007-05-17 01:15

The WaterSki crew was at Swiss Ski School today scouting out the setup for the Pro Slalom Shootout and the Fantasy Camp. Todd was checking out the water conditions. Doster was shooting test shots. The caterer was helping us plan the party. And we're talking with the WebCast-TV guys to bring the tournament to everybody around the world June 13-14. For now, I've been watching the '06 Shootout Webcast -- over and over and over. Is there something wrong with me? (Don't answer that.)

Hey, about my continuing love of Twiggy, here's some YouTube video of the cute little rodent. Must be doing 38 off at 34 mph.

Video of slalom tips

See if this works. Again, not the best production quality (sorry). This is from the 2006 WaterSki Pro Slalom Shootout. For 2007, we're planning bigger and better things.

By WaterSkiAdrienne at 2007-05-03 15:10

Just got my hands on one of the first copies of the June issue, and it looks great! The Day in the Life feature captures a glimpse at what water skiing means to readers from across the country. Keep an eye on the Photo Gallery section of our new Forum page for the rest of your awesome photos. And if you don't see yourself in any of the ones we post, don't fret. Just post your own! It's not too late to tell us / show us what a day in the life at your lake looks like.

By waterskichris at 2007-05-01 02:22

OK, our editor Todd and the rest of slalom nation may not like me for saying this, but I'm somewhat obsessed with Twiggy. C'mon, tell me you guys saw this: http://cbs4.com/topstories/local_story_117134121.html

Inside Look at WaterSki
By WaterSkiAdrienne at 2007-04-26 18:05

Welcome to our new blog section! Hope you'll enjoy reading tidbits about the behind-the-scenes world of WaterSki mag, like a bit of insight into a recent photo shoot with the Florida Southern College Water Ski Team. We caught the team at their home site, Lake Hollingsworth in Lakeland, Florida. In between final exams and just a few hours before most of them headed home for the summer, the team showed us how a balance between fun and serious skiing has led them to success. Look for them in our July issue, on sale June 19.

The Blog Life
By waterskichris at 2007-04-24 17:00

If you're reading this, you must be a hard-core WaterSki fan. We're launching a bunch of new forums and blogging tools to make it easier for all of you to communicate with each other and with us. Check it all out. Besides that, I'm really excited about this WaterSki Slalom Shootout and Fantasy Camp coming up June 12-14. We had a bunch of applicants for the camp, and we're going through the selection process now. At the same time, the call is out to the pros to make this a great showcase for skiing. I could tell you more, but then I'll sound way too much like a marketing guy.
